A source claim is not our test
The selected thread pages describe colourfast dyes and mercerised cotton. These are maker/retailer descriptions, not results of washing, light exposure, rubbing or tensile experiments performed by this site. They do not establish a measured performance score against another brand or guarantee an unchanged result with every fabric, treatment and finished use.
Check the specific claim scope
DMC’s maker page and a retailer Q&A mention an OEKO-TEXSTANDARD100 claim for stranded cotton. We have not independently checked the current certificate registry, exact colour/batch scope or validity for a received item. A product-level source claim is not approval of every component in a kit or a finished toy assembled by a buyer.
A toy-project example
A project intended as a toy can involve construction, small parts, stuffing and other materials beyond the thread. This site does not infer BSEN71 compliance or finished-toy safety from a cotton thread certificate statement. If safety compliance is essential, obtain appropriate current product-specific and finished-object evidence through the relevant process rather than relying on a shopping guide badge.
Do not use unsupported superlatives
A seller’s sheen or long-staple description can help identify the product but does not prove it is stronger, more durable or less likely to bleed than every alternative. No such comparative experiment was done. A lower ticket or a premium brand likewise does not establish quality or an environmental advantage by itself.
The useful buying action
Save the exact claim with the maker/product reference and ask for current evidence if that claim determines the purchase. Keep registry checking marked pending until actually performed. The local finder returns the known source scope and explicit unknowns;it does not certify materials or approve a particular finished project.
Sources & scope
Checked November 5, 2026. Manufacturer and retailer references support the specific statements. Dated displayed prices are not final checkout quotes, performance rankings or performance testing. This shopping reference does not replace the exact product label or retailer instructions. Current received labels and independent technical/content/commerce review remain pending.
