Keep the stitch chart unchanged
For a fixed number of crosses worked one per counted square, the span is stitch count divided by fabric count. A100-stitch width is about18.14cm at14count and15.875cm at16count. This is a mathematical comparison, not a claim that the selected14-count fabric can be changed into16count or that the finished result has been measured.
Do not confuse count with cut size
A14-count30×46cm piece and a16-count30×46cm piece can have the same declared outer dimensions but a different grid density. The selected offer is specifically14count,product6705941000. Buying a nearby16 or18-count listing because the rectangle looks identical changes the material specification and the nominal design scale.
A frame-planning example
Suppose a pattern is intended for a particular finished stitched width. Changing the count can change that width even before margins and mounting are considered. Check the pattern’s working basis and actual finishing instructions before selecting a different count. Do not assume the same frame, hoop access or fabric allowance will work because the chart has the same number of symbols.
Avoid an unsupported substitution
This site does not tell a reader to change strand count, needle size or working tension to compensate for another fabric. Those choices belong to the pattern’s instructions or a qualified project-specific explanation. The supported calculation describes nominal grid geometry only;it does not establish stitch appearance, coverage, comfort or a guaranteed fit.
The next purchase action
Write count, colour and cut size on the shopping line. Check all three in the basket and on receipt rather than relying on an Aida category title. If a substitute is offered, compare its actual count and dimensions as a new record. No stitched sample or shrinkage test has been used to approve a replacement.
