The selected fabric record
The reference is Hobbycraft White14 Count Aida Fabric30cm×46cm,product6705941000. The refreshed current body displays£5,100% cotton and200gsm. An older reader snapshot showed a£2.50 half-price offer;that earlier promotion is not used as the current ticket. One selected offer is one precut piece, not fabric by the metre.
Count is not the cut size
The14-count field describes the fabric grid’s stated count per inch. The30×46cm field describes the declared rectangle. The200gsm field is mass per area, not fabric thickness or the net weight of the received pack. Keep these three specification types separate rather than interpreting14 as14cm or200gsm as a measured200g piece.
Use nominal dimensions cautiously
The listing establishes a declared cut size, not a separately measured usable stitched area. Selvage, edge treatment, fraying, cut tolerance and after-wash change have not been established for the received piece. If a project needs a minimum uninterrupted width, inspect and measure before cutting or beginning. Do not assume the entire nominal rectangle is available for a design without margins.
A planning example
A100-stitch-wide design worked one cross per14-count square has a nominal width of100÷14 inches,about18.14cm. That calculation excludes margins, framing, finishing and any change in the fabric. A buyer can add their own design-specified allowance as a separate planning step;this site does not approve a complete project fit from the cut dimensions alone.
The next purchase check
Confirm14count,White,the exact30×46cm cut and product code in the actual basket and on receipt. Nearby16/18-count pieces and larger76×91cm cuts are different records. If the project depends on an exact usable dimension or care method, obtain current maker/retailer clarification first. No stiffness, shrinkage, ironing or stitching test is claimed.
